BETWEEN THE APOSTLES THE VERY MAGNETIC,
BETWEEN THE DISCIPLES THE BELOVED,
AMONG THE SAINTS ALL KIND
Grand apostle of fondness, my favorite of the adorable Jesus, the beloved Son of the admirable Mother of God, the cherub of the New Law The seraphim Christianity, the wonder and the miracle of the Gospel , after I prostrate at the feet of the Sovereign of angels and men, I just throw me yours, and you have this little book, all dedicated to the glory this August empress of heaven and earth: for to whom could I entrust it to better one to whom the divine Princess who made topic has been so lovingly entrusted the care of the amiable Jesus, who has received it's own mouth, mother of God himself, to him who was substituted as a child instead of his good master, it was like another Jesus, who was his angel visible, to serve all their needs, that took care so much in love throughout the course of his holy life, or for tangible things, or to the spiritual, as directed by our gracious Lord had given him? This love not the same, great saint, that you had for this Mother of fair love, commitment necessary slaves in this incomparable queen to be yours, and it is impossible not to be entirely devoted to the service one who has served with fidelity so inviolable that deserves all the respect creatures of heaven and earth. A heart that truly loves the divine Mary, can never, O disciple of love , defend love you. Binding ineffable God of all charity has put between your heart and heart virginal pure the most sacred Virgin , can not we have a zeal for the Mother of God, than the same time we do not conceive for the glory of his beloved favorite.
It is true that all sorts of reasons strongly urge the faithful to honor you in a particular way. The love that Jesus, our God had for you, imposes on us a need to love you whole, and the great favor that you had with this amiable King of our souls, we strongly invite you to make all possible respects. You gave a show of love to the world, to angels and men. The seraphim have found something surprising in the ardor of your flames, and purity of sacred fires that consumed so divinely your holy life, is admired by the most enlightened souls. The outpourings of the heart of Jesus on your holy person are ineffable, so are you the ultimate beloved disciple . Wherever we preach the gospel, the truth is published, and no faithful can do doubted. The love of a God-Man for you was so great and so wonderful that you were known by the quality of the disciple of love and one could say that love was your name, your possessions , your honor, your glory, your pleasures and your grace . But if you could say definitely, my beloved is mine, you could add with truth, I am to him. If you were very loved, you were very loving : also in the time that your dear Master ignominiously expired on a cross, you seem to stand on Calvary, giving evidence of the most constant love that ever was. All other apostles leave this divine Saviour, and you would remain faithful . The infamy of shame punishment where it is exposed, the blasphemies of the Jews, laughter and mockery of the people, the cruelty and confusion of his sentence, the shame of his torture and arrest of his death, which is water can not quench the heat of your fire. you like, when those who are destined to hold the first rank in his love cease to love, and love that is stronger than death, you will despise thousand dead, you will suffer for your beloved until the last breath of your precious life, banishment, exile, whips, hot oil boilers, and all these great works and inseparable features of the apostolic life.
But if a soul is great that the greatness of love that ignites, how glorious, incomparable saint, have you been high, with love you hosted was so wonderful? This love that you drew in the Heart of it own which is the prince and the God of love and is love itself, had filled your charitable heart of so of affection for all men, there is no words that can explain. It seems to me that he had become all charity, opening by profusion inconceivable to all sorts of people. You were the light of the most enlightened, the perfect guide, a copy of the holiest, the rule of apostolic men, Dr. Peoples, the preacher as well as the writer of the Gospel. Your voice like thunder was heard throughout the earth, releasing the loves of your beloved, and he came out of the lightning so powerful, so touching the lights that were seeing the divine beauty, and the learned men, that hearts could not help but love them. You were support the weak, comfort the afflicted, hope of the hopeless. The most unfortunate you were in a favorable access to help in all their needs, to be assisted in all their miseries. You were amazing miracles to relieve them, you prevent the most miserable by yourself, you go for the most lost souls into the forests and woods, you run after the most infamous and most cruel, you were everything to everybody , to your friends, your enemies, to persons known to the unknown, domestic and foreign, was the charity that you inspired all your thoughts, which formed all your words, your not that crowded, and that animated all your actions. was the charity which was the sole topic of your sermons apostolic, you talk to everyone, you always talk, and you've talked to the last breath of your life. You were fervently loyal to the Assemblies for publishing excellence of this virtue, and unable to walk, did you bring the arms of your followers to urge Christians to love each other each other, according the great commandment that our Divine Master did.
The centuries that followed have seen a continued series of your wonderful kindness: where is he who has used your charitable intercession, who has not felt the effects? You did see your faithful devotees that the sky is not reserved for those of you belong and he is sweet and great to have somewhere in your favor, not only that your friends but those that affect them in any way, are in a happy experience for your protection.
But, you're the saint any kind by the rare qualities which your Divine Master has helped you. Many souls have amassed wealth, but treasures you possess is incomparable. It seems that all graces have your choice of virginal heart, to do their blissful abode and all the gifts that the Spirit of God communicates with so much difference to his saints, are all picked one person in your , which is as the abstract of all the wonders of grace. You are patriarch, prophet, apostle, evangelist, martyr, doctor, confessor, virgin, hermit, and you have all these glorious qualities in a very eminent degree; is what makes all kinds of people you must take to their boss, and faithful protector , and you have a singular devotion. Those in the workforce, those in the contemplative life, those living in cities, those who have retired to the deserts. People engaged in the world, those who are happily separated. Apostolic men, popes, priests, monks, virgins, widows, married people. The perfect, imperfect, the most abandoned sinners and the most miserable: rich, poor, large, small, princes, judges, craftsmen, but particularly those living in the persecution and suffering: since you are the disciple of the cross, as well as love.
But everyone pays worship where he likes, for me, kind saint, you will always be the great saint of my devotion. Large obligations that I have, indispensably require me to love you: Did I just started to know things that the benefits I have received from you, I was led to recognize that you were not such the holy goodness. almost immediately I started to feel the effects of your sweet protection, I started to live, and I have no words to explain the properties that you have procured during the whole course of my life . I see that I remain as oppressed by their greatness , and it is impossible for me to produce thanks to them are suitable, but at least I want to praise you and bless you with all the strength of my heart and that never dry up there thanksgiving. I mean all the incredible bond that I your charitable kindness, and publish the full extent of my voice between the saints you are the most loving, the beloved and amiable. Ah! I take pleasure in knowing that you are dear favorite of Jesus and Mary! And the graces you have received are priceless! glad I am your glory, and that I take part in all the honors that you have visited! Heaven can increase the daily number of your faithful servants, and fill its holiest blessings! I can not quite bless my God, when I think there is a holy command in the Church which is dedicated to honor the Mother of quality, the most pure Virgin had in your location, and quality of child you have brought to him. May the Lord bless the holy Zion divine order and that he never tires of the support of his most pure grace! It spread more and more in his Church a general instinct of love and reverence for your kindness and excellent perfections that he made known to the ends of the earth. That all nations may know the love that Jesus and Mary have had for you and your name is great among all nations and from one end of the world until another.
