Vomiting After Falling On Head

Supply-side journalism

Tackable crowdsources parts of its reporting, asking readers to provide photos via cell phones. Photo assignments for 34 newspapers from the San-Francisco Bay Area. People can see these assignments on a map ( see the explanation in this YouTube clip ) published by an app from Tackable.

The platform hopes to attract amateur photographers who look to share in an event, with perhaps a slight incentive. The photos are rights-free and can be used by the newspapers.
Sounds a lot like Foursquare, except it is the newspapers which take the initiative (demand-side).
A new economic model
for the Press: Lots of Free Labor, and Geographically Distributed Very Involved.
